ChefTools, the exclusive UK distributor of the Pacojet, is now introducing the Kamado Joe indoor charcoal BBQ to the UK restaurant market for the first time.

Cheftools Introduces Indoor Charcoal BBQ Kamado Joe to UK

The Kamado Joe indoor charcoal BBQ is available in the UK for the first time and comes in two sizes - the Classic Joe and the Big Joe (shown here)

Product details:

The Kamado Joe is developed in the USA and is based on an ancient Japanese way of cooking. The speciality charcoal oven combines a combination cooker grill, smoker and oven which uses high-grade charcoal.

While the product looks like a traditional BBQ, it is made from high-fire and heat-resistant ceramics. It features powder-coated cast iron vents, a galvanised iron cart, bamboo handles with a teak finish, side shelves and stainless steel grills.

USP:

Chefs have the option of adding various items to the charcoal to change the taste - hickory chips are one of the suggested additions.

The domed shape of the unit and the air vents are two features of the product which help control the heat, whilst a gauge gives an accurate visual display of the temperature to ensure the optimal cooking range of 300-400°F.

Availability:

The Kamado Joe is available in two models both designed for use in restaurant kitchens - the Classic Joe and the Big Joe. The Classic Joe has an 18"-diameter cooking area, whilst Big Joe is larger at 24".

Both are exclusively available in the UK from the Essex-based distributor in a choice of colours, red or black. The standard models come with a stand and side shelves while the Classic Joe is available standalone or can be professionally built into stainless steel kitchen surfaces.

Price:

Prices start at £575 plus VAT for the standalone version of the Classic Joe.

Why should you buy it?

Luke Bagnall, ChefTools director, said: "Most chefs will be aware that the great taste of barbecue is coming indoors and the trend is set to add a further dimension to their cooking. Kamado Joe is built to exceptionally high standards and available at an affordable price.

"Chefs are going to love creating their own distinctive tastes by experimenting with flavouring the charcoal."

Extras:

The Kamado Joe ovens come with an ash tool and grill gripper. There are also a wide range of stainless steel accessories available to help cook and smoke steak, fish, vegetables, burgers and pizzas.
